Beijing South Train Station

Beijing South Railway Station was re-constructed in May 2006 and started to operation again in August 1st, 2008. it's now renowned as the world's largest railway station combining normal-speed rail, high-speed rail, suburban rail and metro rail. The new station replaced the old Beijing South Station, The history of this station could be traced back to 1897 in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), when it was called Yongdingmen Railway Station, or Majiabao Railway Station.

Beijing South Train Station is now acting as the departure station for Beijing Shanghai High-speed rail and Beijing Tianjin Inter-city Rail. Passenger to Qingdao, Jinan by bulletin train should also depart here.

How to get to Beijing Central Train Station from Beijing Airport

  • By Subway: Take Beijing Subway Airport Express to Dongzhimen station and then change subway line 2 (loop line) for Xuanwumen Station. Beijing South Train Station is connected with Xuanwumen Station by subway line 4. Changing between subway lines is very easy as passengers is guided by subway map, on-board announcement and etc. Riding time on the subway is 1 hour and ticket price is RMB 27 Yuan. Operation hour for airport light rail is from 6:21am to 10:51pm, operation hour for subway line 2 is from 5:23am to 11:30pm and operation hour for subway line 4 is from 5:37am to 11:22pm.
  • By Taxi: The best solution is to take the airport shuttle bus to Fangzhuang. After arrival, you can then take a taxi directly to Beijing South Train Station. The total cost is under RMB 40 Yuan. (Taking Taxi from Beijing Airport to South Station will cost 100RMB )
